Human Kindness.
On our family holiday to Kos in Greece back in July my wife lost our holiday money.
We arrived at the airport in Kos and I asked her for some Euros to buy a few bottles of water. She was frantically going through her handbag but couldn't find the money. 500 euros in total.
Naturally we were gutted and reported the money lost but nothing.
Anyway I had a phone call today to say the money was handed in and was ready to be collected from our local Thomas Cook.
Turns out a guy called Garyth from Wales found it on the floor of WH Smiths and handed it in! What a top bloke.

Despite, the news, media. There is a lot of about. Nothing fancy or news worthy, face it, that just involves hate and death at some kind of level.

It's the little things, opening a door for someone, letting someone in front of you, saying good morning on the way to work. Not hard, just simple and rather British.

Don't know if feelings come into it at all. Sometimes doing the right thing leaves me feeling a bit shit, but then I am an old Kantian.

Re: Human Kindness.
I saw a young family 'Husband wife and two kids' beside a broken down car on motorway a number of years back in the pouring rain. I'd gone past before I had the chance to stop, so came off at the next junction, went back down the other carriageway and turned around and pulled up on the hard shoulder.

The AA had been called so I left my hi-viz waterproof coat with the bloke and took the wife and kids to the next service station.

I've stopped and help a women change a tyre a couple of times too.

The more I think of it, the more bloody nice I realise I am.

it's nice to be nice

Re: Human Kindness.
Small acts of kindness are good for the soul but you should always assume the person you are being kind to is ultimately going to be a disappointment in some way.

That way when you hand them their phone or their money or whatever and they just mumble and walk off (mainly because they're embarrassed to have been such an idiot as to lose their phone or money but sometimes it's just because they are cunts) you don't feel bad about being kind.

Do good because doing good is the right thing to do and for no other reason. If people are grateful let it be a nice surprise. If you expect anything else you risk going down the road of resentment and unhappiness.

After The FA Cup Final Cardiff 2006

A fellow Hammer was stranded in Cardiff, couldnt find his mates was pissed and needed to go to Forest Gate.

Took him in our van, half way on motorway he was talking about some crap and almost jumped into the driver seat and steered the van.

Pushed him back and told him to calm the fuck down.

Good read this thread

Reunited two phones with their owners in the last year, both times the recipient has been more then grateful

All about doing what you would like to happen if you was the unfortunate person that needed help
